Alclad II Lacquers was formed in 1999 in England with the aim of providing modellers with a range of easy to use realistic Natural Metal Finishes. The initial range of 3 colours was expanded during the next year and included the benchmark product Alclad Chrome for plastic #107. During 2001, five paints for Lexan/Polycarbonate Radio Control cars were introduced. The current product listing comprises of 23 metal finishes, 5 special effect finishes, 9 transparent colours, 3 primers/base coats, and also Micromesh polishing cloths.

Hornby is a household name and is famous as the U.K. brand leader in the model railway hobby.
